Pain, tension, sleep problems, digestive problems, headaches, migraine, jaw pain, symptoms associated with anxiety such as palpitations, tight chest, breathing issues.

Almost anything can be produced in the body when we are stressed, but often we don’t realise it.

Treatment Approaches Used

I use a questionnaire to assess your current stress levels and how it is manifesting in the body.

Talking it through is very important to understanding what is going on, and I can explain the physiology of the ‘fight-flight’ mechanism. I work along the lines of the ‘Life Process' which I used myself to help with stressful feelings. Often people will benefit from herbal tinctures which I make up specifically for them, from nutritional supplements to help the body on a physical level with the additional demands being made on it. We may use ‘hands on’ work which means massage or the therapeutic effect of relaxing lasers. Changes to your lifestyle or patterns of behaviour may be necessary if they are contributing to the problem, but these can be discussed and introduced gradually as you feel ready. Simple measures such as going to bed earlier can make all the difference.

How does it work?

When we are stressed we are in a permanent state of ‘fight or flight’ which means we are activated for a dangerous situation, and ready to run (flight) away or stay defend ourselves (fight). We will be producing a lot of adrenalin and our nervous systems will be on high alert the whole time. This is a primitive reaction from long ago in our evolution and we are only designed to stay in this state for a few hours at most, many of us spend days or weeks or even months in this state, and that takes its toll. We need to help you to come down out of this state the processes and remedies and lifestyle changes are all designed to support you to rebalance from a permanently wired state to a more steady one.

Success Stories

Joanna had been under severe pressure at work and was getting chest pains and palpitations. Even though the work situation had calmed down her body had not. She had seen her GP and had even had her heart checked. We talked a lot about what had happened and I explained why she was getting the symptoms, she felt reassured as soon as she understood what was going on and why. In her case we used the laser to help her body relax and she made some lifestyle changes. She felt huge improvement and only needed 3 sessions.

Sometimes stress manifests as PMS (premenstrual stress), Wendy had severe PMS, but with some supplements and herbs it was under control very quickly. She also made some lifestyle changes and cut back her hours at work which she could see were not conducive to her feeling healthy on any level. When we are over busy and our adrenal glands work too hard, it has a knock on effect on other hormones in the body including the female hormone system.
